Rudy Pyle to replace Judge Darden on Indiana Court of Appeals

Governor Daniels announced this morning that Judge Rudolph Pyle will replace Judge Carr Darden on the Indiana Court of Appeals, according to the Indiana Lawyer.

Governor Daniels selected Judge Pyle in 2009 to replace Judge Fredrick R. Spencer, who resigned amid an investigation of his alleged misconduct in a 2007 murder trial. Judge Pyle won reelection in 2010.

Judge Pyle is the first African-American judge in Madison County, and he is the first alumnus of the Indiana Conference for Legal Education Opportunity to serve as a judge of public record. He will similarly be the first ICLEO alum to serve on an Indiana appellate court.

Here is his application.
